CCC: Day Three

Well, we're all done. Today we finished sanding the drywall and painted Mrs. Ramsey's bedroom plus the store room. We actually went back after dinner to finish the final coat of paint, install toilet, hang the doors and clean up. Surprisingly, we did that all in about an hour.

There is still some work to do, but it'll have to be picked up by another group. Mostly cleanup, but also some roof work.

A funny thing just happened. As I am sitting here on my bunk, there is a group of college kids and some adults talking about "that group that hung like 40 sheets of drywall, and the lady they are working for makes them these huge sub sandwiches!" In fact, we hung 26 sheets of drywall, and the sandwiches were only average size.

We'll be on the road after breakfast tomorrow, and hopefully home by 4:00 AM Friday. It's been a great time, and it feels good to have been able to make a difference in someone's life.

On a personal note: I had a video chat with Miriam and Mason II yesterday. For some reason the audio didn't work, but I was still able to play peek-a-boo with Mason! I really didn't think he'd be able to see me on the screen, but I guess I was wrong.

I probably won't post tomorrow, but I'll try to get up some more pictures and final thoughts once I get home.
