A New Adventure

My grandmother always told me that a person needs to make changes in their life every seven years. This keeps us fresh and happy and fulfilled. In honor of my own 28th birthday, I am making a new and exciting change in my life. As of Friday I am taking a break from the hospitality industry. Don't worry, I'm not going too far away. I have accepted a position as an instructor at Stratford University in Falls Church Virginia.

Stratford offers both an associates and bachelors degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management and in Culinary. I will be teaching four lower division classes and one upper division class each week. Please feel free to check them out at www.stratford.edu.

My new position will allow me to have a much better work schedule (8a-1p), more money and a new opportunity to grow professionally. Most of you know that I had just recently made a work change a few months ago to the Holiday Inn Tysons Corner. While I was very pleased to finally get some sales experience, I couldn't help the long nagging feeling I have had for, I dare say for several years now, that I wanted to try something different. So, here I go! Thanks to the support of my incredible husband and family, I am starting a new adventure.

I know that I owe a more personal letter to most of you, and I'm sorry that it will probably take me awhile to get to it. I start at Stratford on July 21st and my first classes begin on August 4th. In the meantime, please drop me a line.

I hope that everyone is doing well...happy and healthy and enjoying the summer.
