Four reasons not to vote Republican:

  1. U.S. Suspends Aid to 35 Countries Over New International Court
  2. Overtime Pay Proposal Stirs Storm of Debate
  3. Frist Opposes Gay Marriage
  4. A rare recall bid imperils Gray Davis

I am really tired of these guys and their war on poverty, homosexuals and the rest of the freakin' world. I am tired of the Democrats ... how they come across as impotent and reactionary. I'm tired of seeing Americans die to secure deals for Haliburton.

I want to do something to help change the world. I want to convince everyone that doesn't vote "because it doesn't matter" that they have to vote, or more and more of our liberties will be sold off, the poor will get poorer, sick sicker, and the filthy rich filthier.

I know I'm not as informed as I should be. I know that I don't know my history as well as I should. I know I should get more involved "in the process" so I can see it change, or at least know that I'm doing my damndest to try to change it.

But work is taking about 12 hours a day, there's a yard to look after, a dog to walk and a wife to love. How am I supposed to find time to help change the world, as well?

Last night we watched a little bit of the "Ken Burns American Stories: Not For Ourselves Alone", the story of Elizabeth Stanton, Susan B. Anthony and the Equeal Rights Ammendment. It is incredible to think of the adversity they faced, and how much they sacrificed so women would have the right to vote. I wonder if I could do the same, if I could commit that much of myself to a movement. And the answer is no ... I like to relax, watch TV and putz on the computer.
